Dowry-a companion or curse

Dowry, a companion of the girl,
As diamond and pearl.
But parents give or take more and more,
We can say much more than before.
So dowry a curse of life,
On her  neck as a knife.
Arise awake and see your glory,
Say no no no for dowry.
